January 31st at 2:00 PM our teen agers will be visiting Temple Israel as a way of helping them understand the many religions which are a part of our culture in the United States. The teens will visit the temple, be addressed by leaders there, and have an opportunity to meet some of their peers. It’s all part of Sunday School. Hats off to Bertha Gilmore who arranged the Temple Israel day. Black Man Live Again
The successful program created by Carlton Leake, Gwen Atkins’ son, will be presented again at GPAC Theater on Thursday, Feb. 4 at 7:00 PM. Many of us will remember being in the audience at the last presentation two years ago. We now have the opportunity to do it again, but this time the proceeds will benefit the Deacon Bob Atkins scholarship fund. So do two things at the same time: come out and enjoy Black Men Live Again, and contribute to the Deacon Bob Atkins Scholarship fund by purchasing a ticket. Let’s be sure that there are no empty seats in the theater that night because all of the seats are taken by St. Augustine folk and friends. The Ladies Auxiliary Knights of Peter Claver are looking for new members and members who would like to reinstate. On February 6th, we invite you to join us for lunch in Mizicko Hall at 12:00 PM. Please RSVP as soon as possible to Audrey Conley at 901-377-6183 or Anne Freeman at 901-345-1228.
